personality:

On the outside, Sif personifies great confidence. It's very rare that you don't see her with her head held high. She stands strong, fearless, but with an air of feminine elegance. However, Sif wants to be seen as a warrior, first and foremost. She is one of two females given the title of fiercest shield maidens in all of Asgard and it’s a title that she takes great pride in. There is very little that frightens her. She never hesitates, especially when it comes to protecting the men she fights alongside, or the realm in which she lives.

If you ask her, Sif may best describe herself as ‘just one of the guys’, equal to them in both strength and skill which sparks no argument from any of them. At least, not one that they are bold enough to voice in her presence. As with all warriors, honour and strength is of the utmost importance. She continues time after time in proving her skill, as well as maintains that determination battle after battle. She has an extremely hard time admitting defeat.

But, like anyone, Sif has her faults. For one, she has a foul temper, and often resorts to bursts of aggressive behaviour if she feels slighted in any way. Translation: Don't underestimate her, particularly because she is female. She also has very little tolerance for weakness, in others, and especially in herself.

And then there's Thor.

Throughout the centuries, she has remained at his side, ready to fight alongside him for whatever calls them into battle. Yes, even when the battles are a direct result of his own arrogance and recklessness, the warrior will cast aside whatever belief, or opinion she has to make sure the golden boy returns to Asgard safely. Oh, she'll not hesitate to put her two cents in when it comes defence strategies, or basic logic, but it's usually overlooked. She has come to learn that Thor can be pretty hard-headed (almost as much as she is) and handling him is something she has both first hand experience with and come to expect.

Sif is definitely one to fight for what is right. It is what was born of her, and what she spent decades training to do. Her loyalties are very important to her, whether for her own kind, or to the friends she has and the ones who deem worthy of her trust.

However, in spite of her reputation, at the end of the day, Sif is still very much a woman. She can be gentle, patient, kind and above all sensitive to the needs of others. She’s perceptive to the thoughts and feelings of those around her and willingly offers counsel. It’s that delicate balance that makes her both feared and admired.

abilities/powers:

Sif has the typical attributes of any Asgardian. She is crazy strong, immune to diseases, and resistant to typical injuries. Sif's metabolism gives her greater than human endurance during physical activities. She is trained extensively in unarmed combat as well as weapons (namely swords).

Weaknesses: She can fall, but her opponent would have to be similar in strength to her Asgardian race, or use very powerful magic.

It was a time to celebrate.

All of them had returned home safely, all together and in one piece. Now it was time to share their heroic tales of their journey to Earth where they set out to bring Thor home. Tales that included how they watched their future King come face to face with the Destroyer and how he rose again from death once Mjolnir was placed back in his hand.

She watched as he made his way in. He strolled behind the table amongst all the rest of the guests. They had been there to welcome him home, back to Asgard where he belonged. He walked tall, but there was an unseen sadness hanging over him. The kind that follows someone when they have lost. The kind that never would go away, no matter how hard one tried to forget.

As much as it pained her heart to see him as he was, she couldn’t help but be so proud of him. Thor, so strong and determined had returned home with a new understanding of what it meant to be a great leader. She no longer saw that young, reckless boy who acted before he thought.

“You will continue to watch over him, won’t you Sif?” Frigga asked, still watching her son from where they stood.

The young warrior nodded. “For as long as he allows me, my Queen.”

There was a silence, and then the two women looked to each other.

“He will hold on to those that he cares about.” Frigga told her. “Moreso now than ever before.”

After she returned to the table, a little while had passed when she lowered her gaze to her plate. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone sitting next to her. A man with a vibrant red cape and a smile that lit up the room.

Now it was time to celebrate.
